Privacy
If your personal data privacy right is being intruded upon, you can make complaints to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data. You can also inquire about information on personal data privacy from this independent statutory body.

Equal Opportunities
The Equal Opportunities Commission is committed to promoting diversity and equality, fostering an inclusive society in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. The Commission works towards the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sex, marital status, pregnancy, disability, family status and race (It is anticipated that the Race Discrimination Ordinance will be implemented in mid 2009). It also aims to eliminate sexual harassment, and harassment and vilification on the grounds of disability. It promotes the equality of opportunities between men and women, between persons with and without a disability and irrespective of family status. If you feel that you have been a victim of discrimination, you can lodge complaints related to discrimination with the Commission. In addition, the Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Unit under the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau launches various publicity and educational programmes that promote equal opportunities for people of different sexual orientation and transgendered persons. The Race Relations Unit under the same Bureau is providing support services for ethnic minorities in order to facilitate their integration into the community.

Intellectual Property

The Customs & Excise Department (C&ED) is responsible for enforcing the criminal sanctions in relation to copyrights and trademarks in Hong Kong. In order to enhance IP protection, the C&ED and the IPR industry has established an Intellectual Property Rights Protection Alliance.
